Alex has been in foster care since he was 7 months old and resides in
Family Ministries residential care program. From an early age, he was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Sensory Processing Disorder and often gets easily frustrated, anxious, and explosive.
The BASE program doesn’t just help our kids academically but also improves students’ balance, posture, and core. These are the very things that challenge Alex each day and contribute to his ADHD and SPD. The BASE program helped Alex improve on his Balametrics as he went from barely being able to sit on the exercise ball to standing on a BOSU ball while multitasking. The program also helps Alex with his auditory processing and sensory therapy skills. These activities and techniques help Alex to regulate his body and behavior as well as multitask successfully. Alex is now more respectful, obedient, and academically successful than before he began the program.
